Taylor Swift is on the road bringing in more than $13 million in ticket sales per night – putting her on track to deliver the highest-grossing tour in music history. Most of the money goes into the cost of production, and that amount does not include the additional millions of dollars in merchandise sales that the Eras tour is generating. Taylor Swift Eras Tour is expected to gross a record $1 billion.

But it still makes Swift, 33, the highest-grossing artist in the world and the biggest tour of her career. Swift is on pace to earn over $1 billion, the most NoArtist has ever achieved.

According to industry publication Pollstar, the tour has grossed $300 million over 22 dates. They were scheduled to perform a total of over 50 dates in the US and then go overseas. Pollstar estimates that Araz could go above $1. 3 billion.

In January this year, Elton John’s tour became the first tour to cross the $800 million mark. Swift is also setting a high bar for prices – in a year marked by concert inflation. The average ticket price for a Swift show is $254. Seven of the 25 best-selling acts of the first half of the year were being charged more than $200 per night.

The list includes Bruce Springsteen at $224, Phish at $206 and George Strait at $282. Just five years ago, Britney Spears and Celine Dion were the only two acts to top $200. That year’s biggest star, Ed Sheeran, could be seen for an average of $89 per night. Since then, the average price of the 25 best-selling tours has jumped by $37. Adjusted for inflation, the bounce is $13. 60, indicating that ticket prices are generally rising faster than consumer prices. Taylor Swift Eras Tour is expected to be more profitable.

Prior to 2018, almost every ticket cost between $75 and $130, although some acts charged more. Now, top performers charging more than $200 outnumber top performers charging less than $100. Coincidentally, 2018 happened to be the last time Swift was on tour.

That’s what’s happened to her price since the Reputation Tour in 2018 and even more since Speak Now in 2011: The cost of seeing Swift has gone up by $134. That hasn’t stopped more than 1.1 million people from buying tickets. Taylor Swift Eras Tour is expected to gross a record $1 billion in 2023.
