WASHINGTON, DC: Describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to the US as “truly historic,” India’s Vice President of Lockheed-Martin, william blair He said that he will take the relationship between the two nations to the next level.
Speaking to ANI, William Blair said: “PM Modi’s visit is truly historic. This visit will take our relationship (India-US ties) to the next level and I think it’s a cross-sector for resilience of the supply chain. We also look forward to our collaboration and cooperation in defense and aerospace.”
Lockheed Martin, an American multinational corporation specializing in aerospace, weapons, defense, information security, and technology, has exported nearly $650 million worth of defense products from India to the US.
“We already have two joint ventures with TATA in India for over a decade. We are involved in supply chains with hundreds of suppliers and have already exported nearly $650 million worth of defense products from India to the US,” Blair said.
When asked about defense sector relations, Blair said: “…the launch of Indus X — This is a defense innovation bridge that brings our new companies to work together in the domains of defense and space, as well as defense industrial collaboration roadmaps”. And he added that such initiatives will be catalysts as well as an avenue for our industries to connect and bring our startups together as part of a single ecosystem.”
